Learn how to set up, publish, and optimize your HipDeck workspace.
Playlists are the heart of HipDeck — they're how you organize and sequence the content that plays on your screens. Think of them like Spotify for your screens: you curate a set of slides, set the order, control how long each one displays, and HipDeck handles the rest.
Once built, a playlist can be reused across multiple screens — so you only need to create it once and deploy it everywhere it's needed.
From the main navigation, select Playlists. On the Playlists page, click the Create Playlist button to open a new playlist editor.
Give your playlist a clear, descriptive name so it's easy to identify later — for example, "Lobby Welcome Loop" or "Promotions – March 2026". A good name makes it much easier to manage playlists as your library grows.
Populate your playlist with slides using any of the available content sources:
For each slide in your playlist, set how long it should display before advancing to the next one. You can configure different durations per slide — for example, a promotional image might show for 10 seconds while a video slide plays for its full runtime.
When you're happy with your slides and their order, click Save. Your playlist is now ready to be assigned to one or more screens.
One of the most powerful features of HipDeck playlists is reusability. A single playlist can be assigned to as many screens as you like — whether that's two screens in the same room or dozens spread across multiple locations. When you update the playlist, every screen showing it will reflect the change automatically.
Now that your playlist is built, explore the full range of content elements you can add to your slides. Visit the Working with Elements guide to learn about text, images, video, Canva, YouTube, and more.
